Unjal Utsavam is celebrated in a grand manner in Srirangam. Utsavam commenced on 24 October 2021. Every day, Sri Ranganathar is adorned with beautiful silk garments and blesses devotees in Unjal Mandapam. Unjal Manadapam looks fantastic with so many flower decorations. Perumal was adorned beautifully with salangai in his lotus feet. Every evening, Purappadu takes place inside the temple premises, in which SriRangarajan comes in procession with Golden umbrella and harathi is performed.
On Day-5, Sri Ranganathaswami was adorned with beautiful garments and Andal kondai.
On day-7, Sri Ranganathaswami along with His consorts, gave darshan to the devotees during purappadu. Paddy produce is measured in front of SriRanganathaperumal, as He is the Supreme Head for all the activities of the place. This utsavam signifies that every activity is accountable to Him, and shows the prosperity of the area. This is called as “Nel Alavai Utsavam“
