Very near the abode of Kaattu Azhagiyasingar and Meetu Azaghiyasingar in Srirangam, Sri Nrisimhaswamy has chosen to reside on the southern banks of Cauvery as Athu Azagiyasingar. The small temple, known as Sri Lakshmi Narasinga Perumal Thirukkoil.

Location

The temple is situated on the road that leads to the Bye Pass Road from Chintamani, Trichy. Just before the Cauvery Road Bridge leading to Thiruvanaikkoil from Chintamani, take the road that turns right leading towards Bye Pass road along the southern banks of Cauvery. The temple is to the left within few metres of turning right.

If you are coming from Srirangam/ Thiruvanaikkoil, turn left immediately as you pass the Cauvery Road Bridge and hit the southern bank. The temple is at lower level from the road, on the Cauvery bed.

Legend

Supposed to be originally from a village named ChozhamAdevi near Thiruverambur, Sri Lakshmi Narisingha Perumal decided to reside at the current place, through dream to an ardent devotee. Situated at the Cauvery Odathurai, this was the gateway to Srirangam hundreds of years ago, when the current road bridge was not
present. Sri Lakshmi Nrisingha Swamy decided to reside here and bless the devotees.

Sri Lakshmi Narasingha Perumal faces East, with Sri Lakshmi on his left lap. Lt not always you see Sri Lakshmi with “Anjali Hastham” facing Perumal in the South direction.

Considered a PrArthana Sthalam, devotees pray Sri Lakshmi Narasingha Perumal to get married, to beget child, to be relieved of all graham doshams and all evils.

Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhar (Thayar with Anjali mudhrai)

Utsavar here is Sri Azhagiya ManavAlan, present along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi NAchiyars. Utsavar is the original resident of the temple, who gave palce to Sri Lakshmi Narasigha Perumal.

Sri Lakshmi Narasingha Perumal Utsavar is also present in the temple, on Garuda VAhana ThirukkOlam.

Evenings 6.00 – 7.00 pm
Open from 5.00‐ 8.00 pm in the evenings on all EkAdesi, Swathi. PradhOsham, Pournami and Saturdays.

Festivals


Sri Nrisimha Jayanthi is celebrated with pomp in the month of VaikAsi. Every month on the day of Swathi, Utsavar is taken in procession through the Malaikottai town (around Rockfort) at around 6.30 pm.

Thirumanjanam is performed for Moolavar on all Amavasya, EkAdesi, Swathi and Saturdays in the morning; and in the evening on Pornami and PradOsham days.
