Chennai’s Sri Sundara Varadaraja Perumal Thirukkoil will be celebrating Vikasi Visaka Brahmotsavam Thiruvizha between May 21st and 27th this year. The utsava moorthy will be taken out around the four mada veedis in grand processions every day on various vahanas including the Sesha, Hanumantha and Garuda vahanams.
This ancient temple, said to be at least 700 years old has been well known even before the area that we now call Virugambakkam existed. The temple is located near the junction between Arcot Road and Kaliyamman Koil Steet in the market area.

Thank you very much for publishing the Brahmotsavam event of our temple in anudinam.org. Please note that the Utsavamurthy will grace the entire 4 mada veethis and not just the prakaram. The 4 mada veethi procession also is for other vahanams and on the day of Garuda Sevai (24/5) Emperuman graces the entire virugambakkam locality by going around a (roughly) 3 km path along the main streets of Virugambakkam.
