On 18 November 2021, Plava varusha, Karthikai -02, Thursday, Bharani Nakshatram; Thirukarthikai Deepam (Sarvalaya Deepam) was celebrated in a grand manner in Sri Thirumaamagal Thayar Sametha Sri Sowmya Narayana Perumal Temple at Thirukoshtiyur.
Thirumanjanam, Alankaram, Vishesha Aradhanam, Vishesha Sattrumurai was performed in the evening. Tirukarthikai Deepam Sokkappanai- dried Palm leaves were bundled and lit by fire during the festival in front of the temple, in the presence of Sri Perumal during His purappadu to witness this event.
