On 21st April 2018 (SriVilambi Chithirai Thiruvathirai), the 3rd day of the Chithirai Utsavam and 1001th Jayanthi of Udayavar were celebrated at Nanguneri Sri Vanamamalai Perumal Temple. In the morning, Perumal and Thayar had Thiruveethi purappadu on the temple streets of Nanguneri. Thereafter, Sri Aadhi Jagannatha Perumal and His consorts had Thirumanjanam. Swami Ramanujar and Swami Manavala Maamunigal also had Serthi Thirumanajanam. The Thirumanjanam began with holy water followed by milk, curd, honey, raw coconut water, sandal paste etc.. After Thirumanjanam, Udayavar mangalasasanam took place. In the evening, Udayavar and Varamangai Thayar had Sesha vaahana purappadu and Perumal had purappadu on Hanumantha vaahanam. Several astikas participated in the 3rd day of Chithirai Utsavam and had the blessings of Perumal.
On 20th April 2018 (SriVilambi Chithirai Mirugaseerisam), the 2nd day of the Chithirai Utsavam was celebrated at the temple. In the morning Sri Vanamamalai Perumal was decorated beautifully with several ornaments and flower garlands. Perumal and Sri Varamangai Thayar had stone fixed attractive crown. Sri Varamangai Thayar had auspicious alangaram with green silk saree. They gave Abhisekha darshan to the astikas. In the evening Perumal had simha vaahana purappadu and Thayar had purappadu on ashwa vahanam.
On previous day (19th April, Rohini), being the 1st day of Chithirai Utsavam, Dwajarohanam was performed in the morning. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place with arulicheyal and veda parayana ghosti. Thereafter, Perumal and Thayar had ul purappadu. Then in the evening, Perumal gave scintillating darshan to the astikas on Garuda vahanam. Perumal and Sri Varamangai Thayar had purappadu in the temple streets of Nanguneri. Thousands of astikas participated in the 1st three days of Chithirai Utsavam and had the blessings of Perumal.
