On 14th April 2018 (Sri Vilambi Chithirai Uthirattathi), Therazhundur Sri Amaruviappan Sri Vilambi varusha pirappu purappadu took place in a grand manner. In the morning, Perumal was dressed up with combination of blue and pink silk vasthram. He was decorated with several chains, pendants and flower garlands (combination of rose, jasmine) and big golden crown. He had all the pancha ayudams (panchajanyam, sudarsanan, sarangam, kaumodiki and nandaki). Perumal gave scintillating darshan to the astikas on Surya Prabhai and had purappadu in the temple streets of Therazhundur. During purappadu, Nadaswaram and thavil were played. Several devotees participated in the purappadu and had the blessings of Sri Aamaruviyappan.
