The nine-day celestial ceremony of Srinivasa Mangapuram is all set to flag off on Saturday and as a prelude to the festival Ankurarpanam was performed on February 26th 2016 evening. Meanwhile in Vaikhanasa Agama, Ankurarpanam or Beejavapanam is the most important ritual. Ankurarpanam means Sowing of the Seeds. Navadhanyas were sowed in mud pots in yagashala on Friday evening amidst chanting of vedic hymns by the temple priests. Water and deepa should be offered everyday and the seeds should be protected very carefully. This is very important as it signifies the completion of the festival without any obstacles. Prior to this fete, Senadhipati utsavam was performed where in the Commander in Chief of Lord Sri Viswaksenulavar was taken on a celestial procession and under his supervision, the entire festival process takes place.
