As part of the ongoing Vaikasi Brahmotsavam at Ariyakudi Thiruvenkamudayan Thirukkoil, which commenced on June 5, 2014, Theppotsavam took place on June 16, 2014; Jaya Varusha Aani Uthiradam/Thiruvonam. This marked the 12th day of the Brahmotsavam.Being Sravana nakshatram, there was serthi sevai for Perumal with Swami Desikan in the evening. Thereafter, Theppotsavam took place for Rukmini Sathyabama Sametha Sri Kannan.
Thiruther utsavam took place on Day 10 (June 14, 2014). On Day 8 (June 12, 2014), Perumal had purappadu in Vennaithazhi Thirukolam in the morning. On Day 7 (June 11, 2014), there was Choonabhishekam and Manjam Vimana purappadu for Perumal. On Day 6 (June 10, 2014), Yanai Vahana purappadu took place in the evening and Thirukalyanotsavam during the day. On Day 4 (June 8, 2014), Perumal gave sevai in Vamana thirukolam in the morning and on Garudazhwar in the evening. On Day 3 (June 7, 2014), morning sevai was in Kallazhagar Thirukolam and in the evening Perumal had purappadu on Hanumantha Vahanam. On the second day, Perumal gave sevai in the beautiful Muthangi vastram. On the first day evening, there was purappadu for Perumal on Hamsa Vahanam.

The utsavam is scheduled to take place until June 19, 2014.
Ariyakudi is a town about 4 kms from Karaikudi. There is a Perumal temple in this town which is about 400 years old and this temple is called Then Thirupathi (Tirupathi of the South). The Perumal is called Thiruvenkatavudayan and Thayar is Alarmelmangai.
Other festivals in this temple include Thirumanjanam on Chithirai first day and Lord’s procession on Full Moon day in the same month (April-May) Brahmmotsavam in Vaikasi (May-June), Theppotsavam (June), Aadi Pooram in July-August, Gokhulashtami in August-September, Saturdays in the month of Purattasi (September-October), Vaikunda Ekadasi in December-January and Kalyanautsavam on Panguni Uthiram in March-April.
