On November 18th 2013; Vijaya Varusha Karthigai Karthigai, Thirukarthigai was celebrated in grand manner at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam (SVDD), Mylapore, Chennai. In the evening, purappadu for Perumal with Ubhaya nachimars and Swami Desikan took place followed by witnessing the Sokkapanai bonfire. Several astikas took part in the purappadu and had blessings of Acharya, Thayar and Perumal.
