As part of Adivan Sathakopa Yathindra Mahadesikan’s 634th Tirunakshatram celebrations there was Vidayatri Dolai on October 12, 2013 at Srirangam Sri Ahobila Mutt. This Dolai Utsavam is always sponsored by Sri Rangam Srimath Andavan Ashramam. Vijaya Purattasi, Uthiradam the Dolai utsavam began at 6.30 pm. The vidyarthis chanted Swami Desikan’s stotrams. Devotional songs were offered. It was a relaxed atmosphere after the 8 days of frenzied activity and parayanam. The sight of the young patasala children jostling and playing in the middle of praying was good to see. These children are actually getting the much talked about quality education. Those mastering Vedas and Sathras will never be in want. We have to do whatever we can in fostering such learning if the future of Vishistadvaitha has to secured. Monetary contribution alone is not enough. We need to treat those who pursue such learning with respect and encourage them in all ways possible. At the end of Dolai, Satrumurai was done followed by Theertham, Sri Sathari and Prasada viniyogam (sarkarai pongal, pulihore and dadhiannam).
After the Thirupanis at Srirangam, Sathakopa Jeeyar went to Thirunarayanapuram. After doing prathishtai of Swami Desikan at Melkote and spent time in giving kalalshepams to innumerable shishyas our first Srimath Azhagiyasingar administered Sanyasam to Nambakkam Krishnamachariar Swami who accepted the ashrama Tirunamam of Sri Van Sathakopa Sri Narayana Yathindra Mahadesikan. Sathakopa Jeeyar was ready to ascend paramapadham having entrusted Sri Ahobila Mutt in safe hands. In Bahudanya Chitra Krishna paksha Ekadasi day Swami ascended to Sri Vaikuntam. His Brindavanam is on the banks of Kalyani in Tirunarayanapuram.
