Sri Vedantha Desika Sampradaya Sabha, Mumbai has organised Swami Desikan Thiruavatara Mahotsavam (or Acharya Jayanthi). This year the Utsavam will take place 10 days from 4th October to 13th October,2013. Daily there will be Seva kalam from 3 PM and Satrumurai at 8.30 PM.On Sunday, 6 October 2013, Chembur Sri Ahobila Mutt, Sri Prahaladavaradan with his Concerts along with Swami Desikan will grace the Uthsavam from 8 AM. On this day,Thirumanjanam to Perumal & Swami Desikan is performed and Satrumurai around 12.30hrs.
Upanyasam by Bala Desikas is organised as part of this utsavam. Children will give Upanyasam on select topics on Azhwars & Acharyas, This will take place from 7 to 7.45 pm for 6 days from 7 October to 12 October 2013. The Sabha have organised Upanyasams from 1st October to 5th October,2013 by Sri.U.Ve.Dr.M V Ananathapadmanabhachariar from 7.30 to 9.30 PM on ” Srimad Bhagawad Gita – Swami Desikan’s commentaries “. All are requested to attend the utsavam on all days and inform their contacts in Mumbai.
