பிரம்மச்சாரியாக வெகுகாலம் இருத்தல் கூடாது.
கிருஹஸ்தன் தூரதேசங்களுக்கு தீர்த்த யாத்திரை செய்தல் கூடாது.
யதிகள் சாயங்காலத்தில் பிறர் கிருஹத்தில் இருக்கக்கூடாது.
பிராம்மணர்கள் தூரதேசம் செல்லுதல், கடல் யாத்திரை செய்தல் ஆகியன கூடாது.
வேதம் கற்றுக்கொள்பவர்கள் தம் வம்சத்தாருக்கு உடைய வேத சாகையை விட்டு பிற வேத சாகைகளை அத்யயனஞ் (பயில) செய்யக்கூடாது. தமது சாகையை பூர்ணமாக அத்யயனஞ் செய்த பிறகே இதர சாகைகளை பயிலாம்.
எப்போதெல்லாம் வேதம் அத்ய்யனம் (பயிலுதல்) கூடாது..?
1. பிரதமை,அஷ்டமி, சதுர்தசி, அமாவாஸை, பௌர்ணமி முதலான திதிகளிலும் அதற்கு முந்தைய இரவிலும் கூடாது.
2. கிரஹணம், ருது ஸந்தி, நிமந்த்ரணம் (பிராம்மணார்த்தம்) சாப்பிட்ட அன்றும், கூடாது.
3. அவர்கள் இருக்கும் ஊரில் உள்ள கோவில்களில் கொடியேற்றம் அன்றும், கொடி இறங்குகின்ற அன்றும் கூடாது.
4. சாமவேதம் கேட்கும் போது கூடாது.
5. மஹாநவமி, ச்ரவண துவாதசி, அட்சய திருதீயை, ரத சப்தமி, மஹாபரணி ஆகிய தினங்களில் கூடாது.
6. மன்வாதி மற்றும் யுகாதிகளில் (வருடப்பிறப்பு) கூடாது.

A married person should not go on long distance pilgrimage
Sages should not stay in someone’s house after evening
Brahmins should not go abroad or travel in sea.
Those who learn Vedas should not learn Veda shastras apart from what belongs to their family lineage.
Those who learn Vedas should not learn branches of Vedam that does not belongs to their family lineage. They should learn their own first prior to learning the other branches not linked to their kulam.
When one shouldn’t read Vedas:
1.on pradhamai,Astami,chaturthi, Amavasi,pournami thithis & the night before it.
2.Eclipse,Ruth santhi,on days when one has eaten the offered food as the representative of the Pitrus of a family
3.During flag hoisting & flag lowering in the temple of the place they live in
4.when listening to Sama vedam
5.Mahanavmi, Sravana Dwadesi,astya tithi,Ratha sapthami,Maha Barani
6.Manvadi and ugadi (new year)
