Sri U.Ve. Pazhavari Satakopacharya Swami, the Srikaryam of Sri Ahobila Mutt, passed away in the early hours of Monday (August 13, 2012) in Chennai after a brief illness. He was 83 and is survived by his wife and daughter.
He was Asthana Vidwan of Sri Ahobila Mutt and had been serving as the Srikaryam since 2001. A scholar of a very high order, he was a great exponent of Yajur Veda and was adorned with the title ‘Soora Adhyayee’. He had performed Saranagati under the 43rd Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Mutt.
He was known for his expertise in the doctrines of Visishtaadvaita. He was a most sought-after scholar in various conferences conducted by other Sampradayas as well. He also had wide knowledge in Nalaiyira Divya Prabandham. He produced over 100 Vedic scholars.
He had contributed more than 100 articles in various journals and magazines including Sri Narasimha Priya.
The death of Srikaryam of Ahobilamutt Satagopachariar is a irrecoverable loss to the Srivaishnavi community as well as to other religious peoples.
Pazhavari Swamy’s death is a very great loss to Srivaishnava Sampradayam. Swamy is a great scholar i.e. VEDAM, VEDA BHASHYAM, SASTRAM AND 4 GRANTHA KALAKSHABAMS.I heard two times Swamy’s Thiruppavai discourse and the same is very nice. Swamy delivered discouses on various subjects. It is also heavy loss to Sri Ahobila Mutt and their sishyas.
“He is a eminent scholar and great Narasimha upasaka.Very kind swamy.May his soul attain the lotus feet of Lord Malolanarasimhan”
