Today November 10, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Aippasi Sravanam, Pushpa Yagam was performed in a grand manner with several tonnes of various kinds of blossoms at Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Divya Desam. In connection with this, all the Arjitha sevas like Viseshapuja, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Vasanthotsavam were cancelled. This annual ceremony is performed in the Telugu month of Karthika after the Purattasi Brahmotsavam on the nakshatram of Sravanam.
After two Archanas and two Naivedyams, the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy along with Ubhaya Nachiyars Sri Devi and Bhu Devi were brought to the Kalyanamandapam by 1 pm where in homas and Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed amidst the chanting of vedic mantras. Later, Perumal and Ubhaya Nachiyars were offered various flowers. Over eight tonnes of 18 different varieties of traditional and ornamental flowers including Chamanti, Lilly, Roses, Nandivardanam, Tulsi, Marukam, Davanam etc were offered. As soon as the flowers touched the chest of the Lord, they were removed replacing new set of flowers. This process was repeated for twenty times. And finally the colourful floral ceremony concluded on a grant note with the priests offering special Arti to the deities at around 5 pm.
Earlier, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to Perumal and His consorts at Sampangi Prakaram inside Sri Vari Temple, Tirumala from 9 am to 11 am. Later procession of the Sacred Flowers carried by around 200 sevarthis took place from Garden office (which is located in the Papavinasam Road) to Sri Vari Temple.
On the previous day (November 9, 2013), Ankurarpanam took place in the evening for the Pushpa Yagam. The processional deity of Senai Mudhaliyar had purappadu around four Mada streets.
