Today August 10, 2013; Vijaya Aadi Uthiram, HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan is on Day 20 of Chathurmasya Sankalpam.
Abhigamanam was done at the usual time. Theertham, Sri Sathari and Prasada viniyogam (Kesari and Dadhiyonam) were done systematically. The crowd was big and several devotees had Samashrayanam and Bharanyasam done. Uthiram is the nakshatram of Mahalakshmi. She is Sri and our sampradaya is Sri Sampradayam. What is Sri Sampradaya? Perumal and Piratti together constitute Paratvam. Mithunam is what we worship. Those who ignore Thayar belong to Surpankha goshti and those who ignore Perumal belong to Ravana goshti. Only Piratti’s recommendation (sifarish) procures moksham for us. This is the reason Bhagavad Ramanuja did Saranagathi on Panguni Uthiram day. It is the day when Nammperumal and Ranganayaki thayar are in Serthi mandapam and is the most important day in Srirangam. Panguni Uthiram is the day Sri Rama and Seetha got married. Srirangavasis may miss Periya Perumal darshanam but having darsanam of thayar is a must.
Earlier, on Aadi Pushyam (August 6, 2013), was the Thirunakshatram of HH 36th Srimath Azhagiyasingar. HH avatharam was at Parandur under the star Pushyam. HH was called to Sanyasam in Sarvadhari Aadi Svathi (August 13, 1888). He was known as Sri Srinivasa Yathindra Mahadesikan. He was called to SriVaikuntam in Vilambi Margazhi Pournami (December 27, 1898). Asthana kalam was 10 years 4 months. His Brindavanam is at Padhur.
