25th February 2016 was the third and concluding day of Varadaraja Perumal’s Dhavanotsavam at Kanchipuram. Perumal and Thayar left in purappadu to ‘Dorai Thottam’ in the morning at about 10.30 a.m. ‘Kshema-Thaligai’ was offered and distributed to devotees. At 1.30 p.m. Vishesha Tirumanjanam took place for Perumal and Thayar followed by theertham and Srisathari and prasada distribution. At about 5.00 Tiruvaradhanam took place at Thayar’s sukravara mandapam’. Devotees got to see their Varadan as ‘Venugopala’ .
Holding a flute of gold amidst the trees flanking the mandapam it seemed as if we were seeing Krishna in Brindavanam and recalled how His ‘venu gaanam’ brought everyone running to Him. Standing with one Foot circling the other He was decked with ornaments but the peacock feather stood out. Thayar in a green saree seemed captivated by His Venugopala Form. Soon Perumal, Uhaya Nachimars and Thayar were covered with flower garlands of various hues and devotees ran along with Them to enjoy Their Beauty during ‘Pathi-Ulathal’. They moved along Azhwar Tiruchutru and stopped by Swami Desikan Sannidhi and then made two rounds accompanied by ‘Vedam’ and ‘Nadham’ before entering ‘Tondaradipodi where ‘ghata harathi and karpoora harathi were offered. Perumal with Ubhaya Nachimars went to ‘kanadi-arai’ and Thayar to Her Sannidhi. With this the curtain came down on Manmatha Maasi Dhavanotsavam for Perarulalan.
