On 25th August 2018, Aavani Thiruvonam Garudotsavam took place at Nanguneri Sri Vanamamalai Perumal Temple. The annual Pavithrotsavam is also ongoing at the Divya Desam. On the occasion, Perumal and Ubhayanachiyars wore a good combination of yellow, red and orange silk vasthram complemented by Sri Vanamangai Thayar and Andal wearing green and magenta vastrams. All the deities were decorated with beautiful pavithrams as well as flower garlands of thulasi, jasmine, roses and ornaments like pearl maala, several pendants, chains. Perumal is holding a silver parrot in His right Thirukkai (hand) during Garuda Sevai. Thayar adorned with kaasu malai, white stone fixed crown, blue, white and red colored chains gave darsanam as Gaja Lakshmi on Kamala vaahanam during the purappadu. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place with arulicheyal and veda parayana ghosti. Several astikas participated and had the blessings of Divyadampathis.
