On August 25, 2017 (Friday) Hevilambi Varusha Avani Hastam and Sukravram, Sri Varadharaja Perumal climbed down the Hastigiri in the morning for thirumanjanam and purapadu, Sri Perundevi Thayar accompanied perumal for thirumanjnam. In the evening, Varadan along with Ubhaya nachimars started in purappadu wearing His crown of diamonds (the diamond crown is worn on every Hastham) which fits Him to perfection.
Accompanied by Vedic chants from Swami Desikan sannidhi and Arulicheyal offerings from Tiruvadi-koil, Varadan and His parivaram returned to the temple for ul-purapadu with Sri Perundhevi thayar.
