Vaikunda Ekadasi, the most holy day of supreme significance for all Sri Vaishnavaites, was celebrated in a grand manner at Mylapore Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam (SVDD) Srinivasa Perumal Temple. On December 21st 2015, Sri Srinivasa Perumal had Garuda Sevai followed by Thiruveethi Purappadu. Many Bakthas participated and received the blessings of Sri Perumal. The Vaikunta Ekadasi festival is an occasion when the Paramapada vaasal is opened for devotees. Paramapada Vasal, colloquially known as Sorga vaasal is the Gateway to Heaven.
