At Tirukuralappan Sannidhi (near Rajagopuram), Thayar is Kamalavalli facing North. One wonders about the appropriateness of having Thayar in a temple for Vamana who came in the garb of a brahmachari to the palace of Mahabali to beg for three paces of land. When Lakshmi who never separates from Him started Her descent He told Her that She would not fit in the role He was to take. But even if He was going a begging, no alms would be forthcoming without Her kataksham, so the short bachelor hid Her under His  deerskin but as He grew to Trivikrama there was no way Lakshmi could be hidden. This thus explains the presence of a Thayar sannidhi at Tirukuralappan sannidhi.
But today, 16/4/2015 She decided to come as the Daughter of Sri Narayanan swami (swami has sponsored utsavamurthi of Thayar) and graced his residence on Chitra Veedhi. Eager to see Her a number of devotees came there and swami had invited U.Ve .Satyamurthi Tathachariar swami and aradhakar swami of Tirukuralappan sannidhi Sudarashana swami to tell us about the temple and Thayar.
U.Ve Thathachariar swami inspite of his years gave a lucid account of the temple. This temple is bang next to the Rajagopuram which was a mottai gopuram till a rajasanyasi Mukkur Srimadh Azhagiasingar(44th Srimadh Azhagiasingar) made history happen before our very eyes by constructing this  the tower of wonder. On 7th November 2009 the temple was offered to 45th Srimadh Azhagiasingar during his tirunakshatram. The temple then marks the entrance to Srirangam temple. Associated with Vamana who was a brahmana the temple used o be the place where brahmanas congregated to perform their sandhyavandanam. Kaveri waters use to come so far those days. There are 24 pillars in the temple symbolic of the Gayatri Mantram. Periazhwar and Andal stayed here before Andal married Ranganatha and there is a divyamangalavigraham of Andal in the temple. Also Nammazhwar used to be stationed in this temple during Adhyayana utsavam. Later on he was moved inside the Ranganatha temple itself. Thatachariar swami’s bhakthi and involvement with the temple was evident in his recollections. We always talk about Krishna as a child but when swami spoke of Vamana’s naughtiness and pranks it dawned upon us that He came as a seven year old boy who had just had His upanayanam. That archamurthis are real was proved by swami’s revelations. Upanayanams used to be performed at the temple and  the Child Vamana too wanted a yagnopaveetham(poonal) and got it made through a devotee. Again this Boy would hide the temple keys and make the caretakers search for them. He always got what He wanted.
Kamalavalli Thayar came to the temple one Maasi Uthiram day and Tathachariar swami said that She has the Tirumangalyam embedded in Her Tirumeni. Â Her utsavamurthi has come to Srirangam on a Chitra Pooratadhi day. Prathistai will happen when She wills it till then we get to touch Her and She will visit the homes of the fortunate.
Thayar is Beautiful and as we admired Her, aradakar swami did alamkaram to Her before our very eyes. She will be adorning crowns of gold and gems and diamonds but today She had a bouffant hair-do. The raised bun was done by tying round Her crowns turbans covered by a black blouse piece. The effect was amazing and basic ornaments and flower-garlands were offered.
