The 5th year annual Brahmotsavam at Sri Venkatachalapathi Temple at BHEL, Trichy is scheduled to be conducted from 22nd February 2014 to 6th March 2014 for 10 days. The Venkatachalapathy Seva Samithi is taking lot of steps in organising the Brahmotsavam. Interested astikas can contribute to the brahmotsavam kaingaryam to the Bank details given below.
By God’s choice and His Will, and coinciding with Revathy star in the month of Maasi, the Rathotsavam and Theerthavaari of our Lord, Thiruvengadamudaiyan is scheduled to be held for the FIFTH time this year. Thus the festival will start on February 22 and will conclude on MARCH 06, 2014. The Flag (Garuda Dwajam) of the Lord to mark the beginning of the festival will be hoisted on the First Day of the festival, that is on 24 February morning at 9-30 am. Earlier day, on 23rd, Sri Vishvaksenar will take a round of the Lord’s procession route as part of Nagara Sodhanai. And, on February 22nd evening, at 6-30 pm, the AngurarpaNam and Soma Homam will be held.
The name Brahmotsavam means that Brahma Himself performs the Utsavam. The word Brahma also means Big and this is known as the Mahotsavam (Big Festival). After the installation of Dwajasthambam in April 30, 2009, this is going to be the FIFTH occasion when flag will be hoisted and a Utsavam will be conducted.
As part of Brahmotsavam, every day the Lord will go on procession on the streets adjoining the temple for all the days twice, in the morning and in the evening on different Vahanams. Homams will be performed twice every day. Tirumanjanam will be performed in the mornings. All of us will be blessed by the LORD for organising such a grand festival. I request all of you take part in this grand festival of the year.
All this means a lot of expenditure too. It is estimated that the festival would cost about Rs.7 lakhs in total. I request every one to participate in this grand festival by giving the maximum amount possible, and if 100 of us can contribute Rs.7000 each, the Festival to our Lord can happen in the manner fitting the Lord’s Grace on us.
