Vedam is considered as Emperuman Himself and Hi is Vedam. At Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam (SVDD) Mylapore, Chennai,Veda Parayanam is being done for 10 days of the Irapathu Utsavam. At this temple, Vedam is flourishing in a beautiful way, as one can notice the youngsters getting ready to take over when its their turn. There are 80 prashnams for chanting in these 10 days. Hence its equally divided for each day and chanted. On January 12, 2014; Vijaya Varusha Margazhi Rohini, Day 2 of the utsavam was celebrated. Meanwhile, on this day, Karthigai Parayanam of Sama Vedam got concluded at the temple with stunning, amazing chanting of Sama Vedam followed by an upanyasam by Sri U.Ve Raghavachariyar [Thirukumarar of Sri U.Ve Srivatsangacharyar].
