Today, August 11th, 2013; Vijaya Aadi Hastham, is the 21st day of Chathurmasya Vratham of HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan.Blessed indeed are those who can offer Dandavath pranams as soon as Srimath Azhagiyasingar emerges out of the ashram. The Vadhyams lie in readiness to do service to the Sundara Simham and one is reminded of Andal’s Marimalai pasuram. After entering the Mandapam those present get purified by the water washing the feet of Srimath Azhaghiyasingar. Vishvaroopam was followed by Abhigamanam.
Today Srivilliputtur Jeeyar visited Dasavatharan Sannidhi and was on the stage where the Swarna Mandapam is fixed. It was a purifying sight to behold two Thridandi Sanyasis with their shishyas enjoying the darshan and mangala Harathi to Sri Malolan and other deities in the Swarna Mandapam. Srivilliputtur Jeeyar swami brought garlands of Andal which our Dolai Kannan wore happily. Srivilliputtur Jeeyar swami was given special Vastram and malai mariyadai by Sannidhi Aradhakar swami. Theertham shatari and prasada viniyogam (lemon rice and kesari) was done at 9.30 am.The goshti was large as it happens to be a Sunday. Samashrayanam and Bharanyasam were done after the goshti. There was a big group for both.
Hastham is the star Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal chose for His avirbhavam. Hastham is the avathara star of HH 44th Mukkur Srimath Azhagiyasingar Srivan Sathakopa Sri Vedantha Desika Yathindra Maha Desikan. Because of His Hastha vishesham (kai-rasi) the pride of Srirangam the beautiful Rajagopuram happened. Swami took up this project at the ripe old age of 85 and completed it in a span of 8 years.The command to build came from Sri Ranganathan Himself and the construction started on May 20th, 1979. The major funds came from Sri Ahobila Mutt. Thirukkudanthai Srimath Andavan swami was the first contributor followed by Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Governments, TTD, music director Ilyaraja and Tamil Nadu government. Many upanyasakars, advocates, doctors and millions of commoners contributed their mite willingly and happily to be part of the kainkaryam. The workers 200 of them gave their one day’s wages and the way everyone was united in the cause was amazing. Srimath Azhagiyasingar’s charisma, dedicated will, untiring zeal and active supervision of the work every day made history happen. The samprokshanam was done in 1987 and as it was reaching completion the project for USA Ranganatha temple was started. It is the temple in the USA because of Mukkur Azhagiasingar’s Hastha Vishesham.
