Devprayag is a small town in Tehri Garhwal district where the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers takes place. The river gets the name “Ganges” beyond Devprayag. At this point one can see the emerald waters of the Bhagirathi (left) merging in the sediment-laden waters of Alaknanda.
